12-days training programme on “Testing of Post-Harvest Equipment’s and Machinery” concludes at CIPHET


Ludhiana, August 5, 2017: A valedictory function was today organized at the Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) to mark conclusion of twelve days training programme (25 July-5 August 2017) on “Testing of Post-Harvest Equipment’s and Machinery” for technical officers of SLFMTTC, Odisha, The programme was sponsored by Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, Odisha.
To get larger impact of the technologies developed by the research institutes and industries, there is urgent need to develop a protocol and have systematic scientific manner testing of those technologies including capacity, power consumption, efficiency and also follow environment and pollution criteria laid by governments. Testing the new developed machines on selected commodities will help to establish faith among entrepreneurs/ buyer towards performance of machines, quality and its workability as well as quality of output/ end product. Dr. V.E. Nambi welcomed all through formal welcome address. Dr. Ranjeet Singh discussed about progress of training and presented feedback of participants. .Dr. S.K Nanda, Head FG&OP Division also addressed the participants about importance of testing of machinery.
Distributing the certificates to the participants, Dr. R. K. Gupta hoped that the participants would have gained relevant knowledge and experience on Testing of Post-Harvest Equipment’s and Machinery. The function ended with vote of thanks given by Dr. Ranjeet Singh.
