12 mobile phones recovered from central jail
Ferozepur, August 26, 2021: Twelve mobile phones were recovered from the Jail following which six persons including five jail inmates have been booked.
Giving the details, Surinder Singh, Jail Superintendent said that during the routine frisking of the jail inmates, 11 mobile phones were recovered from four under-trials identified as Charan Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Sandeep Singh, Sanju besides one prisoner identified as Bhupinder Singh. Another unidentified person was also been booked. Later, a case under 52-A Prisons Act was registered against all the accused at city police station (FIR No. 252 Dated 25.08.2021).
It is pertinent to mention here that more than 60 mobile phones have been recovered from the central jail during the last eight months. Last year also, 122 mobile phones were recovered. Earlier on August 20, ten mobile phones were recovered during the checking. On July 9, eleven mobile phones were recovered while on June 30, eight mobile phones were recovered.
"No body will be allowed to take law in the jail premises", said Supdt. Singh
