1200 take part in Paras Health ‘Run for health’ on cancer awareness
As many as 1200 participants including doctors, army personnel, senior citizens, women and kids participated in ‘Run for health’ on cancer awareness, which was organized by Paras Health Panchkula in association with Bluebuck media at Panchkula on Sunday.
Panchkula, February 11, 2024: As many as 1200 participants including doctors, army personnel, senior citizens, women and kids participated in ‘Run for health’ on cancer awareness, which was organized by Paras Health Panchkula in association with Bluebuck media at Panchkula on Sunday.
Paramjeet Singh and Giani Jagjeet Singh, Administrator and Head Granthi at Gurdwara Nada Sahib respectively were chief guests during the occasion.
Speaking during the occasion, Dr Pankaj Mittal facility director Paras Health said that ‘Run for health’ was organized on this year's World Cancer Day theme of ‘close the care gap’. We tried to make sure participation of people from all walks of life in the Run to spread awareness on this theme.
Addressing participants, Paras cancer center experts said that one third of the cancers can be prevented by lifestyle modification. One should stop smoking, limit alcohol intake, lose weight and exercise regularly.
Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains and less meat. Add more fruits, vegetables and fiber to your diet, experts maintained.
Meanwhile, the 5 km Run in male category was won by Rahul. Ashok and Siddhant got second and third place respectively. In the 10 km male, Dayal emerged the winner followed by Garu and Pankaj. In the women's 10 km, Nandini won the Run.
Payal and Reeta remained at second and third places respectively. Jaspreet won the 21 km male Run followed by Amit and Amit Kumar at second and third places respectively. Manisha won the women's 21 km Run with Mukesh Kumari and Paramjit Kaur getting second and third places respectively.
