12th Chandigarh Science Congress (CHASCON-2018) at PU

Chandigarh, February 7, 2018: Panjab University, Chandigarh jointly with Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC: A cluster of Chandigarh region institutions to promote and sustain excellence in research) is organizing a three day Conference, 12th Chandigarh Science Congress (CHASCON-2018) from February 12-14, 2018 on the theme Science and
Society Interface: Exploration of Cost effective and efficient technologies through Physical and Natural Sciences at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Panjab University has been successfully organizing CHASCON for last many years under the able guidance and stewardship of Prof Arun K. Grover, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Since its inception in 2007, the Congress has come a long way and continues to encourage the young and innovative minds to pursue career in Science by providing a suitable platform to enhance their research acumen through interaction with eminent
scientists in varied Science disciplines.
Dr . Promila Pathak, Professor, Dept of Botany, PU is the Coordinator and Dr.Sonal Chawla, Professor, Dept of Computer Science and Applications, PU is the Co-coordinator for the CHASCON 2018. They informed that several scientists and experts
will participate and deliberate on its theme. The technical sessions shall comprise Plenary Lectures and both oral and poster presentations. The abstracts of the accepted Oral and Poster presentations will be made available during the conference, Dr. Pathak added.

Dr. Pathak further informed that the Congress will bring together the scientists, researchers , industrialists, administrators, technologists, planners, teachers and students on a common platform to exchange views and ideas on how to communicate science and its basic values to the society at large. The deliberations would explore the new dimensions in the field of industry, academia, research, IPR, entrepreneurial ventures, regulatory affairs, and soft-skill management. The Conference
events will encompass keynote talks and poster sessions demonstrating current research outcomes and information pertaining to various scientific domains, she added.
It was added that the inaugural function shall be held at the University Auditorium on 12th Feb’2018 at 9:30 am. Best Paper and Best Poster Awards announced in each Science Section shall be awarded at the Valedictory function on 14th Feb’2018.
Exhibition stalls showcasing the department/institute’s activities and exhibitor’s products shall be on display during the Congress.
