13th MACHAUTO Expo bolstering foreign Participation in Punjab
The much-awaited four-day grand event, the 13th MACHAUTO Expo, commenced with great fervour at the Ludhiana Exhibition Centre in Sahnewal on Friday. Boasting participation from over 650 exhibitors from across India and 12 other nations, the expo showcases a plethora of innovative tools and technologies, encompassing machine tools, robotics, automation, and more, totalling over 10,000 products and services.
Ludhiana, February 23, 2024: The much-awaited four-day grand event, the 13th MACHAUTO Expo, commenced with great fervour at the Ludhiana Exhibition Centre in Sahnewal on Friday. Boasting participation from over 650 exhibitors from across India and 12 other nations, the expo showcases a plethora of innovative tools and technologies, encompassing machine tools, robotics, automation, and more, totalling over 10,000 products and services.
DPS Kharbanda, CEO-cum-Admin Secretary (Invest Punjab), and Director of Industries and Commerce, graced the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest and he lauded the efforts of the organisers for this excellent event and emphasized the significance of the expo in bolstering both local and international participation.
He said that he had the round of the halls and met several exhibitors including some from Japan, Germany who have their plant in other states like Pune. "These exhibitors expressed their willingness to setup a plant in Punjab as according to them their maximum consumers are from Ludhiana," he said while adding that the Punjab Government under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has come with the policy to attract investment in Punjab as well as to boost local industry.
Besides, MLA Sahnewal Hardeep Singh Mundian and Custom Commissioner Varindaba Gohil also graced the event.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President of CICU, said that this year expo has been organised at much expanded scale and added that CICU is working with the objective to double export of Punjab and for this 10 representatives from different countries including Iran, Myanmar, Kyrgyz, Madagascar, Burundi, Mongolia, Ethiopia, Lesotho are attending the exhibition to explore business opportunities and foster international relations.
Dr. Iraj Elahi, Ambassador, The Islamic Republic of Iran said that he is visiting Punjab for the first time and after visiting this expo he found there are significant opportunities for collaboration between Punjab and Iran. “We will make industrialists, traders in Iran aware about the potential of Punjab industrialists and will also invite industrialists from Punjab to visit Iran so that they can gain insights into the types of products and services in demand in our country,” he said.
The expo features a diverse range of products, including machine tools, cutting accessories, robotics, automation, electrical and electronics, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, industrial supplies, and more, catering to a broad spectrum of industries.
