14 LPU Students Set to Parade and Perform Bhangra at the 76th National Republic Day Celebrations in New Delhi
The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Government of India) selected LPU students from among lakhs of participants
Jalandhar; The 14 students from Lovely Professional University (LPU) have been selected to participate in the 76th National Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025, at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. Students will have the honor of performing NSS, NCC parade, and cultural performances in front of esteemed dignitaries, including the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and the international Chief Guest, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Government of India) selected these students from among lakhs of participants who underwent a rigorous selection process across the nation. Avinash Korrai (B.Tech, CSE), Malavika J.V. (B.Sc. Hons. Biotechnology), and Manas Kumar (BBA) earned their spots after completing an intense 100-day training camp, demonstrating their dedication, discipline, and hard work. Additionally, Shahin, a B.Tech (CSE) student and NSS volunteer, will join the NSS Republic Day parade, while 10 LPU students will represent Punjab’s vibrant cultural heritage through a performance of the traditional Folk Dance Bhangra. The students' participation in the Republic Day Parade highlights the exemplary dedication of LPU’s NCC, NSS, and Cultural departments.
Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, expressed immense pride in the students’ selection, stating, “This remarkable achievement shows not only the high standards and quality training provided by all the departments but also how LPU’s holistic development model is making a tangible impact. The 76th Republic Day celebrations will feature various tableaux from states/UTs and organizations, highlighting the country's cultural diversity, unity, and progress. LPU students will play a pivotal role in representing the spirit of India on this momentous occasion. With more than one lakh viewers physically present and millions more watching live broadcasts across India and globally, this event will truly celebrate India’s national spirit.
