14 Railway stations of Ferozepur Division to be upgraded and beautified with an amount of Rs.1100 crores

The Union government, under the “Amrit Bharat Station” will be upgrading the 14 railway stations of the Ferozepur Division, this was revealed by the Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Sahu during a press conference held today.

Ferozepur, August 4, 2023: The Union government, under the “Amrit Bharat Station” will be upgrading the 14 railway stations of the Ferozepur Division, this was revealed by the Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Sahu during a press conference held today.


While divulging more details, the DRM Sahu said that during the first phase, the buildings of the railway stations will be beautified. “In this phase, more green patches will be developed at the railway stations for the beautification, besides wall paint depicting the history and the culture of that place, will also be done. Moreover, new waiting rooms with new furniture will also be setup. These stations will also be equipped with high level platforms, instructions board, lighting system and modern parking system. These stations will be developed as the “city centres”. These station will also have the facility of “one stall one station”, said DRM Sahu.


DRM Sahu said under this project, 1309 stations will be upgraded across the country, including 71 stations of Northern Railway and total 24 stations of Ferozepur division.  


Out of the 14 stations which will be upgraded in Ferozepur Division includes 11 stations are in Punjab and 3 stations are in Jammu and Kashmir. The stations which will be upgraded in Punjab include Firozpur Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, Kotkapura, Dhandari Kalan, Phillaur, Pathankot Junction, Gurdaspur and Kapurthala. In J&K three stations including Jammu Tavi, Udhampur, Badgam will be upgraded.


As per information, 20.73 crores will be spent on Ferozepur Cantt station, 14.12 crores on Dhandari Kala, 19.46 crores on Fazilka, 24.35 crores on Phillaur, 26.56 crores on Kapurthala, 16.65 crores on Muktsar, 19.41 crores on Kotkapura, 19.26 crores on Gurdaspur, 9.69 crores on Pathankot railway station.


Besides Rs. 8.12 crores on Jammu Tawi railway station, 18.39 crores on Udhampur railway station and 15.29 crores will be  spent on Badgam railway station.
