Chandigarh, September 11, 2022: As many as 140 doctors attended a CME on ‘Robotic Surgery’ at Mohali Club here today. The CME was organized by Max Hospital, Mohali where a panel discussion was attended by Max robotic surgery experts including Dr. Anupam Goel Consultant Max Institute of Minimal Access, Bariatric and Robotic Surgery, Dr. Ritesh Pruthy Senior Consultant Surgical Oncology, Dr. Abhay Kalra , Consultant - Urologist, Andrologist, Robotic & Laparoscopic Surgeon, Dr. Seema Wadhwa Associate Director-Obstetrics & Gynecology , Dr. Shaveta Gupta Senior Consultant -Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Dr. M S Bedi Associate Director -GI Surgery.
Speaking during panel discussion, Dr. Anupam Goel said,” Robotic Surgeries are the most precise across specialities as they offer benefits of minimally invasive, minimal blood loss and faster recovery.
Dr. M S Bedi said that Indian surgeons are now showing massive interest in adopting the technology as robot-assisted surgery helps them in gaining control, accessing better visualisation, and achieving improved clinical outcomes.
Dr. Seema Wadhwa & Dr Shaveta Gupta commented that robotic surgery allows surgeons to access difficult to reach areas with precision & large magnification. In robotic surgery, small incisions are made in place of a large incision, which is therefore less invasive than the traditional surgeries.
Meanwhile after the launch of Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot a month back , Max has performed 27 robotic surgeries ranging from hernia to hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, neck dissection, ephrectomy, pyeloplasty etc.
