14th Panjab University Rose Festival 

Chandigarh, January 21, 2025: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh would organise 14th Panjab University Rose Festival from February 7 to 9.
 
PU Registrar Prof. Y.P. Verma today inaugurated the Rose Festival Secretariat at Single Window Enquiry, Near Post Office, Panjab University. He also released the detailed schedule, poster and brochure for various competitions. With the inauguration of the 14thPanjab University Rose Festival Secretariat, the sale of the forms for participating in various competitions has started at the Festival Secretariat.
 
 
Er. Anil Thakur, Executive Engineer-II; Prof. P.S. Kang; & other faculty members; Sh. Vikram Singh, Chief of University Security; Sh. Jatinder Moudgil, Manager, Press; and other members of Organising Committee of the Rose Festival, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and general public were also present on the occasion.
 
 
Er. Amandeep Singla, Assistant Engineer (H) and Organiser of the 14th Panjab University Rose Festival apprised that during the three days festival, different competitions namely Rangoli, Painting, Rose Prince & Rose Princess and Fancy Dress will be arranged for different age groups.
 
PU Rose Festival will be a three days event. The festival will be inaugurated by the PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig on February 7. The festival will have Flower Competition on first day. In the evening on first day, there will be performance by Jagjit Wadali and Mr. & Ms. Rose Competition, curated by University Institute of Fashion Technology, Panjab University. On second day i.e. 8th February, 2025, competitions of Rangoli and Painting will be held. There will be performance by Parwaz Rock Band in the evening on second day. On third day i.e. 9th February, 2025, competitions of Rose Prince & Rose Princess and Fancy Dress will be held. In the evening, there will be performance by Punjabi Singer Jeet Jagjit.
 
To cater to the need of the visitors, there would be variety of food space in the Food Court. For entertainment of youngsters and children, amusement park and gaming zones will be set up. The main attraction would be the open flower competition with about 90 categories.
 
For healthy children, there would be the competitions of three age groups of Rose Prince and Rose Princess.
 
Space will be provided to sponsors to showcase their products and services which will get vast publicity due to huge gatherings expected at the festival like previous years.
 
Entries for flower competition will be accepted upto 5:00 p.m. on 6.02.2025 at Rose Festival Secretariat and on 7.02.2025 till 10:00 a.m. at Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Entries for all other competitions will be accepted upto 05.02.2025 till 5:00 p.m.
