15 day theater festival kicked off successfully at Balwant Gargi Open Air Theater
Natym Bathinda staged play Lok Mana Da Raja about Maharaja Ranjit Singh on the inaugural day
Bathinda, October 1, 2021: On the first day of 15-day drama festival by Natyam Bathinda the play 'Lok Mana Da Raja' on the life, thinking and administration of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was successfully staged at Balwant Gargi Open Air Theater, Bathinda. The play puts light on the life and thoughts of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, is written by Dr. Satish Kumar Verma and was directed by Kirti Kripal. Giving details, Kirti Kripal shared that during this play, Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh's way of life, strategy to run administration and taking right decisions according to the sentiments of the people were shown through various characters, in which more than a dozen artists contributed. Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda attended this occasion as the Chief Guest, who said the play shows how we can take a lot of inspiration from the regime of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, with what we can also improve our present system. He also shared that as a VC, he always encourages theatrical activities in his university. Dr. Anuj Kumar Bansal from Punjab Cancer Care Hospital was also present on this occasion.
