15th CT Half Marathon: “Vote Kar Befikar” - A Triumph of Unity and Resilience with Over 10,000 Participants
In a resounding celebration of unity and resilience, the 15th CT Half Marathon witnessed a staggering turnout of over 10,000 participants from across the nation. Under the inspiring theme "Vote Kar Befikar," echoing the importance of fearless voting, this annual sporting extravaganza once again lived up to its legacy as one of the region's premier events. Mirroring the success of the past 14 editions, participants from diverse regions displayed unwavering enthusiasm, transforming the marathon into a vibrant celebration of community spirit and healthy competition.
Jalandhar, March 10, 2024: In a resounding celebration of unity and resilience, the 15th CT Half Marathon witnessed a staggering turnout of over 10,000 participants from across the nation. Under the inspiring theme "Vote Kar Befikar," echoing the importance of fearless voting, this annual sporting extravaganza once again lived up to its legacy as one of the region's premier events. Mirroring the success of the past 14 editions, participants from diverse regions displayed unwavering enthusiasm, transforming the marathon into a vibrant celebration of community spirit and healthy competition.
The marathon, spanning from the Shahpur Campus to the Maqsudan Campus, commenced with a remarkable flag-off ceremony attended by eminent personalities such as supercentenarian marathon runner Baba Fauja Singh, business veteran and social activist Sukhi Bath, Punjab's singing sensation Yuvraj Hans, and Zora Randhawa, among others. Team Parindey, under the leadership of founder Rajan Syal, infused the event with energy, opening the ceremony with invigorating stretches, music, and a Happiness session.
Participation extended beyond individual enthusiasts, with numerous running, biking, and cycling clubs, including Sky Riders, Hawk Riders, Jalandhar Biking Club, Jalandhar Running Club, Nirvana Motor Riding Club, Bikers Heaven Club, and more, contributing to the event's vibrancy.
After conquering the challenging 21 km stretch, participants reached the Maqsudan Campus, where the closing ceremony featured outstanding performances by global star Singga, Raaj Sohal, and several other prominent celebrities.
Winners were as followed Rohit secured first place in the male category, followed by Sonu Kushwah and Manjit Singh. Cash prizes of ₹25,000, ₹11,000, and ₹5,100 were awarded to the top three male winners, along with exciting prizes. In the female category, Arpita claimed the first position, followed by Rimpi and Ruhi, receiving similar cash prizes and additional rewards.
In addition to the top winners, 14 other exceptional runners were also recognized and rewarded for their commendable efforts.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Chairman of CT Group, Charanjit Singh Channi; Co-Chairperson, Parminder Kaur; Managing Director of CT Group, Dr. Manbir Singh; Vice Chairman of CT Group, and Joint Managing Director, Tanika Channi.
