16 Agriculture students selected at  2.5 Lakh per annum at  CGC Jhanjeri

Mohali, May 3, 2018: CGC Jhanjeri students of B.Sc Agriculture have also started getting jobs in leading companies. The latest company to visit the campus for placements is Ebro India. Ebro is a multinational food group operating in rice, pasta and sauces sectors .Top company officials including Krishan Dhawan, VP Supply Chain, Yash Pal Singh, Head HR and Satish Kumar, HR Executive conducted interviews at CGC Jhanjeri . Giving brief details about the company, the officials told the students that the company had its office at Taraori, Karnal, Haryana which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ebro Foods, Spain.

After a rigorous interview, as many as 16 students were selected by the team. The selected students will be given training by the company to interact with farmers & advise them about the quantity & quality of fertilizers & pesticides needed for different crops especially rice. This will not only save unnecessary expenditure on excess quantity used by them, but it will also increase the yield due to timely use of appropriate type of fertilizers & pesticides. The selected students will be given a package of Rs. 2.5 LPA.

Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that it was a matter of pride for the college that such prestigious companies have selected our students. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General explained that CGC Jhanjeri started this four year degree course of B.Sc. Agriculture in 2014. As such the first batch will pass out in July 2018. Although most of these students are interested in pursuing Post Graduate studies of M.Sc. Agriculture, yet all the eligible students interested in jobs will be placed before they pass out.
