163rd Defence Pension Adalat inaugurated at “Vajra Sainik Institute” Jalandhar Cantt
Jalandhar, December 17, 2018: 163rd Defence Pension Adalat was inaugurated by Sh.Tarun Kumar Jajoria, Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension Disbursement) on Monday at “Vajra Sainik Institute” Jalandhar Cantt. The Defence Pension Adalat was organized for redressal of grievances of Defence Pensioners, including Defence Civilians residing in the District of Jalandhar and adjoining areas. The Adalat was organized by CDA (PD) Meerut under the aegis of the Controller General of Defence Accounts, New Delhi in consultation with Ministry of Defence and infrastructural support in organizing the Defence Pension Adalat was provided by Vajra Corps. The officers from Ministry of Defence and Defence Accounts Department, Public Sector Banks and Zila Sainik Board were present on the occasion. In his address, Sh. Tarun Kumar Jajoria CDA (PD) appreciated the sacrifice of the brave soldiers and their families for the safety and security of the country. He said that the DPA organized by the Defence Accounts Department is one of the most important endeavors to reach out to the ex-servicemen and their families with the objective of redressing their pension specific grievances. He said that handling of Defence Pension Adalat is a challenge in view of complexities of rules and regulations. The efforts were made to settle the complaint on the spot. All Defence pensioners were invited to attend the Adalat in case they have any questions regarding their pension or are seeking any information thereof. Out of 236 cases registered in DPA, 124 were settled on the spot. Shri Tarun Kumar Jajoria, IDAS, CDA (PD) Meerut highlighted various project being implemented for improving the services provided to pensioners. He also mentioned newly implemented e-PPOs, e-payments and pensioners portal through which pensioners may seek clarification on their pension related issues. The Adalat received an overwhelming response from the ex-servicemen. The Defence Pension Adalat was fully successful in its objective.
