16th CT Half Marathon Records Over 2000 Runners

The 16th edition of the CT Half Marathon, themed "Run for the Planet," witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 2000 runners and fitness enthusiasts from across India. Upholding its legacy, the marathon commenced at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus, and concluded at CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan Campus.

Jalandhar, March 9, 2025: The 16th edition of the CT Half Marathon, themed "Run for the Planet," witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 2000 runners and fitness enthusiasts from across India. Upholding its legacy, the marathon commenced at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus, and concluded at CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan Campus.  

This year, a new category was introduced alongside the traditional 21 km half marathon. The newly added 5 km short run started and ended at CT Group, Maqsudan Campus, making the event more inclusive and encouraging participation from all fitness levels.  

Recognizing outstanding performances, the marathon awarded cash prizes in both men’s and women’s categories. The top three winners in the half marathon received ₹25,000, ₹11,000, and ₹5,100, respectively, while the next seven winners were awarded ₹2,100 each. Manjit Singh clinched the first position in the men’s category, followed by Harpreet Singh in second and Digamber Singh in third. In the women’s category, Shreya secured the first position, with Swati in second and chest number 2849 in third place.  

In the newly introduced 5 km short run, the top three winners in men’s and women’s categories were awarded ₹5,100, ₹3,100, and ₹2,100, respectively. In the women’s category, Sumeena Chauhan secured first place, followed by Davinder Kaur in second and Narinder Kaur in third. In the men’s category, Joga Singh claimed the first position, with Kuldeep Singh finishing second and Tarlok Bhatia securing third place.  

The event was graced by the presence of legendary marathoner Baba Fauja Singh, Arjuna Awardee Sucha Singh, renowned artist Gurpreet Ghuggi, singer Jassie Gill, IFBB Pro Biki Singh, and talented performer Aadi. Their presence added to the excitement and motivation of the participants.  

The marathon also witnessed the esteemed presence of the Chairman of CT Group S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Co-Chairperson Parminder Kaur, Managing Director Dr. Manbir Singh, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, and Co-Managing Director Tanika Channi.  

Speaking on the occasion, Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman of CT Group, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response. He stated, "The CT Half Marathon is not just a race; it’s a movement towards fitness, unity, and perseverance. Seeing over 2000 participants run with such enthusiasm is truly inspiring. Every year, we strive to make this event bigger and better, and the addition of the 5 km category is a step toward encouraging more people to take up running. We are grateful to all the runners, supporters, and dignitaries who made this event a grand success."
