17 KG HEROIN WORTH RS.85 CRORE RECOVERED BY BSF

Ferozepur, December 23, 2018: In a major haul of drugs and ammunition, the BSF sleuths belonging to 87 Battalion in Ferozepur sector have recovered 17 packets of heroin (approximate weight 17 kg) worth Rs.85 crore besides two firearms (one Pakistan made pistol and one modified weapon), 3 magazines and 26 live rounds have also been recovered near Border Out Post (BOP) Karma.
Giving details Sandip Channan, DIG BSF, Ferozepur Sector said that today morning, the BSF sleuths deputed near the BOP observed some suspicious movement ahead of border security fence. “Immediately a special search operation was carried out during which 17 packets of heroin, two firearms (one Pakistan made pistol and one modified weapon), 3 magazines and 26 live rounds were recovered”, said DIG.
The pipe which was used by the smugglers was also recovered by the BSF sleuth.
It is pertinent to mention here that this year, 221.305 kg heroin has been recovered this year by BSF on Punjab border this year.
