18 More Punjabis arrive back home from strife tone Iraq

New Delhi, July 7, 2014: As many as 18 Punjabis returned from strife torn Iraq at New Delhi last night through special flights due to the persistent efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who was closely monitoring the entire situation and being constantly updated by the senior officers, especially deputed to ensure safe and hassle free return of these Punjabis.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's office said that as per the information received from the office of Resident Commissioner, Punjab Bhawan New Delhi, of 18 Punjabi youth which arrived here at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday evening, seven belonged to Hoshiarpur district, six to Kapurthala, three from Jalandhar and two hailed from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) district.
Meanwhile,   Gurpreet Singh, Balwinder Kumar & Ashok Kumar from Jalandhar district, Omkar Singh, Harish Kumar, Aman Deep Singh, Rajiv Kumar, Amrik Singh, Narinder Singh &  Chaman Lal from Hoshiarpur district, Kulwinder Singh, Harjowan Preet Singh, Jaspal Singh,  Kuldeep Singh, Baljit Ram & Paramjit from Kapurthala district, beside Vijay Kumar and Balwinder Kumar from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district) have arrived at Delhi yesterday.  
The spokesperson further said that Badal was keeping a close tab on the situation and the Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal has been asked to ensure hassle free immigration clearance of the persons returning from Iraq and two officers of Punjab Bhawan have been deployed at immigration section of IGIA 24x7.  These officers have already been instructed to ensure free transportation facility to the Punjabi coming from Iraq so that they could safely reached at their native places in the state.
