19 prominent women achievers honoured on International Women’s Day at PAU
A significant portrait dedicated to International Women’s Day 2024, depicting the theme “Inspire Inclusion- 2024” was released by Vice Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal and Dhanpreet Kaur, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range in Thapar Hall PAU here today.
Ludhiana, March 8, 2024: A significant portrait dedicated to International Women’s Day 2024, depicting the theme “Inspire Inclusion- 2024” was released by Vice Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal and Dhanpreet Kaur, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range in Thapar Hall PAU here today.
This portrait was compiled by Punjab’s eminent Author, Nature Artist and Heritage Promoter Harpreet Sandhu. The event was organised by Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana, in collaboration with Sewa Sankalp Society. The objective of holding this event was to mark the significance of International Women’s Day 2024 and acknowledge the pivotal role played by prominent women from Ludhiana making strides in different spheres.
On the occasion, Harpreet Sandhu read a message of MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora. In his message, Arora congratulated women who were honoured on the occasion. He said these women achievers were the source of inspiration for other women across the country. He emphasised that women play a vital role in building a better society and the Nation as well. He said there is a need to spread message of theme “Inspire Inclusion- 2024” of this year’s International Women’s Day not only in Ludhiana but across the state.
Vice Chancellor PAU Dr Satbir Singh Gosal said that the event aimed to highlight the pivotal role played by women within the society and we all must promote the cause of social equality and follow the International Women’s Day theme “Inspire Inclusion”. He added let us focus on empowering young girls. He emphasised on the need to stand in solidarity with women around the world.
Harpreet Sandhu said it’s time to change the patriarchal mindset and initiate a collective effort to make the nation safe and secure for women so that their future is bright and shining. He recognised and applaud the tireless efforts being made by women officers, including Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Sakshi Sawhney, in rendering their services.
Prominent Women from different walks of life were honoured during the event for their exemplary services rendered towards society which include Padma Shri Rajni Bector, Dhanpreet Kaur (Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range), Dr Rajinder Kaur (Commissioner Income Tax), Dr Suman Singh (Director Health Services cum Mission Director NHM Chandigarh), Manisha Oswal, Dr Vanie Thapar, Dr Tanvir Likhari, Gagan Preet Batra, Dr S K Maan, Nomita Khanna, Dr Harjot Sidhu, Dr Kavita Saggar, Aman Sandhu, Dr Suman Puri, Dr Sandhya Sood, Dr Sulbha Jindal and Guneet Arora Partner Studio Gray. Dr Lata Mahajan Chinnan and Ketki Arora Director Femmella Fashions Ltd were honoured and recognised during their absence.
