19 Villages selected under pradhan mantri adarsh gram yojana: ADC Raghav Sharma
These villages to be provided basic facilities
Dharamshsala: Additional Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma said that 19 villages (with majority of Scheduled Castespopulation) of Kangra district, have been selected by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana to makethem Adarsh Village.
He said that the development of adequate infrastructure in the identified villages under the scheme and improvement in socio-economic indicators is to be ensured, so that people get basic facilities, reduce inequalities and their standard of living can be brought in line with general society.
He said that in order to fulfil this objective, the identified villages shall be provided basic needs like drinking water and sanitation, education, health and nutrition, social security, rural roads and housing, electricity and clean fuels, agricultural activities, financial inclusion, digitalisation and skill development.
The ADC said that the central government has made a provision of Rs 20 lakh each for the identified villages and a time period of 2 years has been fixed for the use of this amount. These villages have been selected according to the 2011 census.
