Ludhiana, May 19, 2016: Two consultants from the Department of Pediatrics, DMCH including Deepak Bhat, Professor Pediatrics and Dr Gurdeep Singh Dhooria, Associate Professor were invited by European Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases(ESPID) to present their work on various infectious diseases of children at an international conference “ESPID 2016” held from 10th¬14th May 2016 at Brighton, in England.
Dr Deepak Bhat presented four papers including a case presentation on typhoid fever whereas Dr Gurdeep presented two papers. This is a prestigious conference on childhood infectious disease wherein experts from all over the world come together and discuss the latest developments and treatment of various infectious diseases in children.
Dr Deepak Bhat and Dr Gurdeep Dhooria also presented their work on various infectious diseases like dengue fever, malaria, typhoid, flu, srub typhus as prevalent in Indian scenario. This created good interaction with faculty from European countries, USA, Australia, New Zealand etc. These two doctors from India helped international faculty to create guidelines in management of these diseases.
Dr Deepak Bhat was also alloted special session “Meet the Professor” to interact with younger generation of pediatricians from all over the world. It was a great honour bestowed upon pediatric faculty from India.
