2-Day NUMCON concludes at DMC&H
The Dayanand Medical College concluded a highly successful two-day National Undergraduate Medical Conference (NUMCON) 2024. The event, organized by the students for the students, aimed at fostering academic excellence and camaraderie among medical students from various colleges.
Ludhiana, May 25, 2024: The Dayanand Medical College concluded a highly successful two-day National Undergraduate Medical Conference (NUMCON) 2024. The event, organized by the students for the students, aimed at fostering academic excellence and camaraderie among medical students from various colleges.
The conference agenda was packed with enriching activities, including guest lectures, hands-on training workshops, and a delightful gala night designed to strengthen the bonds between participants from different colleges. The workshops offered practical training in several critical areas of medicine, such as Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pharmacology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatrics, Research Methodologies, Neurology, Basic Surgical Skills, and the use of Artificial Intelligence tools for medical students.
On day two, a very fruitful workshop on Cardiology was conducted by Dr. Bishav Mohan and his team on “Hypertension Awareness and Screening.” This included hands-on training with tools and a quiz to test the budding doctors’ knowledge. The winners were given cash prizes.
Another highlight of the event was the Pediatrics workshop, where students were taught about the latest advancements and received hands-on learning through an interactive session conducted by Dr. Puneet Pooni, HOD, Pediatrics, and Dr. Karambir Gill.
The Department of Anesthesia conducted a Basic Life Support workshop led by Dr. Suneet Kathuria, where students were taught the difference between giving first aid to an adult and a child.
Participants had the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge through various competitions, including case presentations, paper presentations, poster presentations, and clinical care contests. These events encouraged students to engage deeply with their studies and share their findings with peers.
More than 200 students participated in this conference, making it a memorable and impactful experience for all.
