2-Day Students Literature Festival Concludes at RGC

Ludhiana, April 23, 2016: The two-day Vidyarthi Sahit Utsav (Students Literature Festival) organised by the PG Department of Punjabi, Ramgarhia Girls College and Punjab Sahit Academy concluded today.
The event was organised with an aim to provide guidance to the budding writers who were selected from various institutions of Punjab. The first day witnessed four sessions on poetry and fiction and the potential writers benefitted immensely from the expertise of the eminent scholars. The fifth session was held at PAU on the same day. Many renowned personalities in the field of literature marked their presence on the second day.
Dr (Mrs) Inderjit Kaur, Principal; S. Ranjodh Singh, President and S. Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, accorded a warm welcome to the guests.
The day started with the sixth session which was conducted by Sehajmeet and chaired by Mr. Rajpal Brar. The seventh session witnessed a discussion on lyrical poetry and it was conducted by Harinder Kaur and chaired by Mr. Gurtej Koharwala. The eighth session was on non-fiction and it was conducted and chaired by S. Jaswant Singh Zafar. In the ninth session, S. Ranjodh Singh conducted a workshop on photography and in the tenth session, Swarnjit Savi conducted one on Painting. The valedictory session was conducted by Dr Surjit Singh and S. Jaswant Singh Zafar read the report of the event. Navtej Bharti delivered the valedictory speech and the session was presided over by Dr Surjit Patar. Dr (Mrs) Inderjit Kaur thanked everyone for making the event a success and said that it was heartening to interact with enthusiastic budding writers. Dr Surjit Patar averred that the event became a success because of the cooperation of everyone involved in the event and said that such opportunities should be provided to the talented youngsters so that Punjabi literature could gain newer heights. \S. Ranjodh Singh and S. Jagtar Singh appreciated the members ofPunjab Sahit Academy and Dr Rippandeep Kaur, HOD of Punjabi, RGC, for organising the event.
