2 Day virtual photography workshop at GNA University
The workshop was initiated to motivate and highlight the students of photography
Jalandhar: GNA University organized a 2 day “Photography Workshop” by Sony Alpha. Nearly 50 students of Journalism and Animation participated to learn technical aspects of photography and new dimensions in Photography.
Sony Alpha Mentor & Multimedia Specialist, Mr. Sameer Ashraf, conducted workshop and explained fundamentals of photography to the students. Varied important details about shutter, aperture, field-depth, exposure and related techniques were shared for general understanding of the students.
Mr. Ashraf also drew numerous facets of Photo-Journalism. He said that photo-journalism emerged as a significant field after the World War II. Mr. Ashraf said, “The future of photo-journalism is very bright. Journalism and Animation students should use the power of photo-journalism and advanced photography skills for their professional excellence.”
The Workshop was initiated to motivate and highlight the students of photography and to give their efforts an exposure and a token of acknowledgement. The main objective of presenting students to the various technical and professional aspects of photography and the use of various Applications and photo editing software’s to enhance their skills and quality of photography.
Students were also educated about special photography skills about people, travels, industry, food and architecture. Besides outdoor photography, students also learnt about indoor lighting situations, digital photography and advanced professional photography.
Mr. Baljit Singh, Head of Faculty of Animations congratulated and acknowledged the participation of the students for their timely efforts and also thanked all the dignitaries for providing opportunity to the department to host the event on the virtual platform.
S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor expressed, “Journalism & Animation is one of the most alluring fields and I am happy that the department always takes initiative in making the students apprise with the latest techniques that are coming up.”
