2-day workshop on e-win network concludes in Dharamshala

Dharamshala, November 27, 2018: The two day workshop on the e-Win (Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network), which was organised by UNDP on internal order management,in Regional Hospital Dharamshala, concluded today. Dr.Rabindra Singh Rana, Chief Medical Officer, said that in the month of May last year, stock of life saving vaccine for children and pregnant women was made online in mobile and app with the help of UNDP. He added that a few months later, the equipment used in the maintenance of vaccine (ILR) with the help of UNDP was installed with the help of temperature logers to ensure that vaccines are being stored at the right temperature and to maintain the quality. No shortage is being kept in maintaining the standard of the medicine.”

Medical Officer Health Dr.Rajesh Guleri said that under a new step in the workshop organized by the UNDP, a new feature of vaccine supply chain management has also been added which is called order management. Guleri said, “Now the officer present in PHC will be able to ensure that when and how much vaccine is given to them. Also, the main store will now be able to find out how much the vaccine is in demand in the other stores.” He said that not only this, the health worker will now be able to monitor the ILR through app of his phone, 24 hours even staying away from his office. Guleri said that the now-known malfunction in storage of In the ILR, can be detected immediately and the vaccine can be transferred to safe place well in time .

UNDP Senior Project Officer Dr. Sonika Badalia informed , “ the monthly reports of e-WIN has proved each time that District Kangra is one of the best districts of the state in this project.”

UNDP Project Officer (IT) Girish Dave trained 73 cold chain handlers from 73 vaccine stores of the district in this workshop.
