2-Week long personal contact programme for distance education students held at LPU
Jalandhar, December 12, 2019: Two-week long personal contact programme (PCP) for distance education students concluded at LPU campus. Thousands of students from various locations of Punjab attended the PCP classes and interacted with expert faculty of the university for their academic enrichment. Students were provided academic inputs based on the specially designed Instructional Plans prepared by the faculty to ensure coverage of all the key concepts of the syllabus. Based on the online registration of the students, university planned and conducted PCP classes in the disciplines of Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Commerce, Library & Information Sciences, Economics, Education, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Political Science, History and Sociology. Around 150 faculty members were engaged to conduct classes pertaining to around 310 courses. Many of the out-stationed students resided in the university hostel during the PCP. PCP classes concluded with the conduct of self-assessment test and feedback sessions. While sharing her experience, one of the MBA students, Kashish Wadhawan quoted "I am feeling very grateful that I got the opportunity to attend PCP classes at university campus. I was finding it a little difficult to study a whole lot material from book but here I got the gist of key concepts for all my subjects which would help me to score good marks." Another student Jazmeet Kaur pursuing diploma in computer applications remarked, "In PCP classes, I was able to clear all my doubts from university professors and could get practical exposure in the labs as well. It’s the best we can get." Many of the Government Employees pursuing different programmes from LPU Distance Education specially took off from their official engagements to get benefited from the PCP programme. Presently the admission to various Distance Education programmes is open for January 2020 session.
