Ludhiana, July 26, 2024: The 20th meeting of the Apiary Industry Sectional Committee, FAD 3, was successfully held on July 25 at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, in a hybrid mode.
The meeting was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, Honourable Vice Chancellor of PAU Ludhiana, who emphasized the significance of the apiary industry.
Dr. P.K. Chuneja (Retd. Professor-cum-Head) from PAU Ludhiana highlighted the industry's critical role and needs. Key items on the agenda included a review of BIS standards on apiary machinery and processing equipment. Discussions focused on the latest advancements in beekeeping technology, strategies for improving honey production, and initiatives to support beekeepers and enhance the quality of apiary products.
Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Head of the ToT Division, and Dr. Guru P.N., Scientist at ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana, provided updates on progress made in apiary processing equipment. This diverse gathering fostered robust discussions and the exchange of valuable insights aimed at driving growth and sustainability in the sector. Experts from across the country also participated, contributing to the rich dialogue and collaborative spirit of the event.
