22 CANDIDATES FRAY IN FEROZEPUR LOK SABHA ELECTIONS INCLUDING 12 INDEPENDENTS
DC ASKS CANDIDATES TO FOLLOW MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT AND EXPENDITURE LIMIT Ferozepur, May 2, 2019: Post the withdrawal of the nominations for Lok Sabha Elections, a total of 22 candidates including 12 independents are left in the fray for the election of new Member of Parliament from Ferozepur Lok Sabha Seat. 25 candidates had filed nominations for Lok Sabha Seat and three nomination papers were rejected during scrutiny. District Election Office-Cum- Deputy Commissioner Mr Chander Gaind said that after the last day of withdrawal for the nominations till 3 pm, 22 candidates including Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal from Shiromani Akali Dal, Mr Harjinder Singh from Aam Aadmi Party, Mr Hansraj Golden from CPI, Mr Sher Singh from Indian National Congress, Mr Sukhjeet Singh from Bhartiya Lok Sewa Dal, Mr Sunny Bawa from Akhil Bhartiya Apna Dal, Mr Harminder Singh from Samaj Adhikar Kalyan Party, Mr Naresh Kumar from Hindustan Shakti Sena, Mr Balwant Singh from General Samaj Party and Mr Madan Lal from Republican Party of India. In independents, Mr Satnam Singh, Mr Satnam Singh, Mr Sujreet Singh, Mr Sushil Kumar, Mr Kashmir Singh, Mr Kuldeep Singh, Mr Jatinder Singh, Mr Parwinder Singh, Mr Pala Singh, Mr Balkar Singh, Mr Buta Ram and Mr Manoj Kumar. Mr Gaind urged the candidates to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct and expenditure limit. Further, he asked them to maintain expenditure register and using a separate bank account for the expenditure and maintain a record of each rupee. He clearly said that any violation of the code of conduct will be dealt with strictly.
