25 candidates file nominations for MCL whereas nine file papers for MC and Nagar Panchayat polls
A total of 34 candidates filed nominations on the third day of making nominations for the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (25 nominations today) and whereas nine candidates, three for MC Sahnewal and six for Malaud Nagar Panchayat elections, filed their papers in district scheduled to be held on December 21.

Ludhiana, December 11, 2024: A total of 34 candidates filed nominations on the third day of making nominations for the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (25 nominations today) and whereas nine candidates, three for MC Sahnewal and six for Malaud Nagar Panchayat elections, filed their papers in district scheduled to be held on December 21.
Disclosing this here today District Election Officer Jitendra Jorwal stated that 25 nominations were received for the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. Now a total of 26 nominations have been filed till today.
Whereas nine nominations, three for MC Sahnewal and six for Malaud Nagar Panchayat elections received today. He mentioned that December 12 would be the last date for filing the nominations.
Jorwal added that the nominations would be scrutinized on December 13 while the date for withdrawal of the nominations would be December 14. He also stated that electronic voting machines (EVMs) would be used for the voting on December 21 and the polled votes will be counted on the same day at the polling station itself, after the completion of polling of votes.
