26 All India J.P.Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament for Trident Cup
HPCA and Ranstar Cricket Club Delhi to clash in the finals
Chandigarh / Mohali, September 11, 2021: The first semi-final match between Ranstar Cricket Club Delhi and UPCA in GMSSS Sector 26 was abandoned after scattered rains after the toss which was won by Ranstar Cricket Club who opted to field. The two teams were introduced to the Chief Guest Mr. Tejdeep Singh Saini, Director Sports U.T. Chandigarh. All efforts of the grounds men to make possible play for even 20 overs was thwarted by the showers returning at regular intervals. Ranstar having secured 3 wins against UPCA’s two wins in the league stage eased into the finals.
The second semi final at Cricket Stadium Sector 16 between HPCA and CAG Delhi was also called off after various attempts by the ground staff to get the match started. Rain gods played hide and seek and they had to eventually call off the contest leaving HPCA winners having secured 3 wins at the league stage while CAG Delhi had logged two wins.
The final clash is now between Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association and Ranstar Cricket Club Delhi starting at 9.00 a.m. at I.S. Bindra Cricket Stadium PCA Mohali tomorrow. It’s a 50 overs game. Mr. O.P. Soni, Minister of Medical Education & Research, Freedom Fighters Food Processing Department will be the Chief Guest while Mr. Rajinder Gupta, President PCA and Mr. Chander Shekhar former DGP Punjab will be the Guest of Honour. The winners will get the Winners TRIDENT CUP and a cash prize of Rs. 2.00 lacs and the Runners up will get a cash Prize of Rs. 1.00 lac and the Runners up TRIDENT CUP. There will be awards for the BEST BATSMAN, BEST BOWLER, BEST ALL ROUNDER AND MAN OF THE MATCH according to Capt. Sushil Kapoor, Organising Secretary of the tournament.
