Jalandhar, January 29, 2018: Principal Dr Naresh Kumar Dhiman said , “In an attempt to provide affordable coaching of various written examinations and interviews for class 2 ( non-officer Posts) and class 1 category ( officer cadre posts ) organized by UPSC, SSC and PPSC to the 10+2 and Graduate students of Doaba region Doaba College Jalandhar had set up DCJ School of Competitive Examinations in 2011 .In this centre free coaching daily from 2.30pm to 6pm ie total 3.30 hours ,four modules viz General Knowledge, Mental Ability & Mathematics , English and Interview Techniques for 90 days by those teachers who themselves had qualified these competitions .So, till date , during last seven years 27 students have qualified various written exams and interviews viz 9 students –Gaurav , Kanwalpreet Kaur, Deepak Kumar, Gurleen, Deepak Sahota , Jaspreet ,Amritpal, Jaspreet and Jagmohan have qualified banking cadre exams ,Manvinder Singh IPRO/DPRO exams, Ram Avtar-Postal Assistant ,Jatinderpal Singh –FOOD Inspector exams , Sushma –Block Extension Educator( BEE), Gaurav Dogra IAS Prelims ,and 8 students viz Parul Sharma , Heena Chadha , Anmol , Shruti, Gagandeep Singh, Atul , Rithesh and Gagandeep kaur PSTET/CTET & Lecturer exams .
Principal Dr naresh Kumar Dhiman congratulated successful students , Prof Sukhvinder Singh –Coordinator and Prof Sandeep Chahal-Co-ordinator of this centre for their untiring efforts for this grand success .Principal Dr Dhiman said that students who are taking coaching in this centre are lucky as teachers who are teaching free of cost have themselves experience of these competitions viz Prof Sukhvinder Singh himself had qualified IAS Group A Services exam in 1992 and PCS in 1998 and Prof Sandeep Chahal had qualified Combined Defence Services (CDS) exams in 1995 and Central Police Organizations , Assistant Commandant Examinations ( CPO) in 1996, so the rich experience of these teachers who are doing social service by taking free classes have resulted in this success.Dr Dhiman said that vlast year UGC had given a grant of Rs 5 lac to this coaching centre to run this centre throughout the session and classes were organized throughout the year otherwise parents have to spent 5 lacs a year if they send thier children to different coaching centres in Delhi and 2 to 3 lacs if they are sent to academies and coaching centres in Chandigarh.So, Doaba College is doing social service to people of region by organizing free classes with such good results
