2nd Batch of Voluntary Social Worker’s Concludes at PU.

Chandigarh, August 28, 2016: The second batch of 12 students of the Voluntary Social Worker's course concluded at the Chandigarh Hospice on Saturday.
The course was the brainchild of Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner Shri Ajit Balaji Joshi and was organised by Chandigarh Administration, Panjab University(PU) and the Red Cross. It was conceptualised and formulated by Dr.Monica Munjial Singh, PU
Centre for Social Work and Dr Mini Arora, Red Cross Chandigarh. The core team of the course included Dr.Firuza Patel (Ex -Prof PGI), Dr.Monica Munjial Singh (Panjab University), Dr.Mini Arora and Dr.Neeru Anand (Chandigarh Hospice -Red Cross).
The six days course covered an intensive syllabi related to health, education and other provisions of the government. Apart from theory the students were oriented to diverse field settings and conducted a research study in the Bapu Dham area the
report for which would be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh.
There is a huge demand for this course and it holds a lot of value nationally as well as internationally as the students of the first batch have been placed well at both these levels.
