3-Day ACLS BLS Workshop organised at DMC&H

A three day ACLS BLS workshop is being organized at the Dept of Anestheisia, DMC&H. This workshop will train doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, residents and interns with the skills to assist patients in times of emergency.

3-Day ACLS BLS Workshop organised at DMC&H

Ludhiana, September 1, 2023: A three day ACLS BLS workshop is being organized at the Dept of Anestheisia, DMC&H. This workshop will train doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, residents and interns with the skills to assist patients in times of emergency.

This course is accredited by American Heart Association and its validity is worldwide. DMC&H takes pride to be the first AHA accredited training site in North India and till now DMC&H has conducted more than 80 such courses. Faculty of DMC&H have trained more than 5000 medical and paramedical personnel , not to mention about the non-medical personnel ( police personnel, school children , etc. ) in Basic life support skills.

The instructor for today were Dr Sunil Kumar, chief AHA instructor from International training centre, New Delhi. He was accompanied by Dr Suneet Kathuria, Head, Dept of Anesthesia and other faculty members.

Present at the event were Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMC&H, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Medical Suptd., DMC&H and other instructors and students.

Speaking on the occasion, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society said that this workshop is a great initiative to gain lifesaving skills not just for the medical professionals but also the ordinary people who might be there at the right time to save lives.

Dr Sandeep Puri said that the workshop is a pivotal part to impart these skills in young professional which can help in increasing their credibility as a doctor and patient could feel safe coming to them.

Dr Sunil Kumar, Chief AHA Instructor said that DMC&H is always ahead in taking initiative to increase the scope of learning for the students and the doctors working in the institute.

Dr Kamakshi Garg, Professor, Anesthesia and DMC&H AHA BLS and BLS Coordinator, gave a vote of thanks.

In another event four books were published by Sunil Kant Munjal, President, DMC&H managing Society, Dr Randeep Guleria, President AIIMS, Bilaspur, Dr Rajiv Sood, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Vice President, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr Bishav Mohan, Professor, Medical Superintendent, HDHI, and others. These books were authored by the doctors of Hero DMC Heart Institute for increasing awareness about various heart related issues among the public.

The books were titled, “Understanding & Managing Hypertension”, “Beat the Heart Attack”, “Strengthening Heart Muscles” and “Manual on Oral Anticoagulants”.
