Dharamshala: A team of the Vigilance Department caught red handed an SDO of the Water Power Department (IPH)of Manai Sub Division, yesterday and was presented before a Court on Sunday.
Court sent the said SDO on police remand for three-day i.e. 27 October.
Confirming it, Balveer Jaswal, DSP, Vigilance Police Station, Dharamshala informed the media that the accused SDO has been sent on three days police remand. DSP said that the matter will deeply be inquired, and the department will also inquire into the disproportionate assets of the accused.
It is to add here that on Saturday night in IPH Sub-Division Manei of Kangra district, a Vigilance team from Dharamshala caught SDO Kamal Kumar Sharma red-handed taking an alleged bribe of Rs 19 thousand from an IPH contractor Ajay Kumar.
Earlier, a complaint was lodged by the Contractor at vigilance police station and a team of vigilance officials under the leadership of DSP Balveer Jaswal laid a trap and caught the SDO Sharma near Salol of Kangra district.
