374 Research Scholars enroll in Ph.D at Amity University
Amongst these over 63% scholars are females
Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) commenced its academic session with the orientation programme for research students in which 374 students were selected for doctoral programme (Ph.D). Amongst these over 63% scholars are females who have opted for part time and full time Ph.D programmes, 52 scholars have opted for Bio-Sciences & Biotechnology Program, 49 for Management Programmes, 30 for Science & Technology Domain, 26 for Social Sciences/Public Policy/International Domain and other in Law, Journalism, Tourism, Education etc.
Addressing the research scholars, Dr. Balvinder Shukla. Vice Chancellor, Amity University, said research plays an important role in the development of any country, therefore one has to do thorough research which should benefit the society. She advised scholars to work hard, think, speak like a researcher and find solutions with smile and a positive attitude, which would yield good results.
Dr. W Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation gave a brief presentation of Amity, highlighting the achievements of the faculty members, students, strong R&D culture of the University, patent filing by the researchers at Amity. Dr. BC Das, Director, Amity Institute of Molecular Medicine & Stem Cell Research also gave lecture on the topic "Why, What and How to Research".
On this occasion Dr. DK Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law School; Rear Admiral RC Kochhar, Group Pro Vice Chancellor along with faculty and officials of Amity University were also present to bless the students.
