37th Punjab Youth Basketball Championship starts at Ludhiana
Teams from 10 districts including Ludhiana Basketball Academy are participating
Ludhiana, November 12, 2022: The 37th Punjab Youth Basketball Championship (Boys and Girls) has started today at the Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana here. It was formally inaugurated by Jai Singh Sandhu MDSPS Hospital today. During his address, he assured all possible support for this championship and praised the management of Ludhiana Basketball Academy.
Giving information in this regard, Teja Singh Dhaliwal, General Secretary, Punjab Basketball Association said that this championship is being conducted from 12 to 15 November 2022, in which teams from 10 districts and Ludhiana Basketball Academy are participating.
He said that teams from Ludhiana Basketball Academy, Kapurthala, district Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Hoshiarpur, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Mohali, Sangrur and Bathinda are participating in the boy's category. Similarly, in the girls' category, teams from Mansa, Ludhiana Basketball Academy, Kapurthala, District Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Patiala, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Mohali, Sangrur and Bathinda will take against each other.
He further said that four matches were played on the first day today, In the boys' matches Mohali defeated Sangrur by 57-43 points, Sri Amritsar Sahib defeated Hoshiarpur by 40-37 points and Ludhiana defeated Gurdaspur by 44-25 points.
Similarly, in the girls' competition, Patiala defeated Sangrur by 27-08 points.
During this championship, the Punjab team will be selected for the coaching camp for the 37th Youth National Basketball Championship to be held at Indore from December 21 to December 27, 2022. He further informed that the 37th Punjab Youth Basketball Championship is being sponsored by SPS Hospital Ludhiana.
On this occasion, JP Singh President of Ludhiana District Basketball Association, SP Parminder Singh, Veerpal Singh Dhillon, Jasveer Singh, Rajinder Singh Coach, Saloni Coach, Narinderpal Coach, Ravinder Coach, Sukhwinder Singh Coach and others were present.
