3rd edition of chairman’s trophy inter school basketball tournament kicked off

Hyderabad, August 9, 2019: St Peter’s Residential School today organized a two day 3rd edition of Chairman’s Trophy Inter School Basketball tournament here in the city at Dhulapally at its school premises in the city . The tournament was formally inaugurated by its Secretary TV Reddy. Addressing the 200 plus gathering, TV Reddy told young players to play the game in the spirit of it. Winning and losing is part of the game. Participating itself is winning. Learn the art of the game, he told them Two hundred players from nine teams from schools such as DRS, Pallavi Model School, CMR International School, Oak Valley, HAL Secondary School, Sadhu Vaswani International School, Takshila School, Abhaya International School, St. Peter’s Residential School, the host, have participated in the tournament. The annual tournament is held in two categories — Under Thirteen and Under Sixteen both for boys and girls. According to T. Saroja Reddy, Director of St. Peter’s School, Basketball as a sport is picking up in the city. More tournaments are organized. Junior NBA is popularizing the sport in our city The inaugural match Under 16 Boys was played between St. Peter’s B Team and HAL Boys In the second match Pallavi Model School competed with Sadhu Vaswani and 3rd Match was held between CMR Intl School and Oak Valley. On the whole, 17 matches held today. Both Quarter and Semi Finals matches too were conducted. Finals will be played on Sunday. In Under 13 Girls category St Peter’s and HAL reached final. The final match between them will be played tomorrow. As of filing this story In under 13 Boys St.Peter’s and SADHU Vaswani reached finals which will be played on Sunday. Under 16 Boys and Girls Semi Finals and Finals will be played tomorrow. Mr. Bal Reddy, Founder and Chairman of St. Peter’s will grace as Chief Guest and give away prizes to winners on Sunday.
