3X3 Basketball Format, Ist of its kind Punjab level tournament begins with bang in Ludhiana
43 teams reached first day at Ludhiana from all over Punjab
Ludhiana: In the very first day of the new format -3x3 Basketball tournaments, it all began with a big bang, with young hoopsters beating Covid-19 lockdown stress so brilliantly after relaxations for holding games have been given by Punjab Government. This format of game is given recognition by Olympics-IOC also.
43 teams reached first day at Ludhiana from all over Punjab including one team from Haryana also and played their respective matches.
Twenty two matches were played In Under-17 Boys categories.
Eight matches were played in Under 17 Girls category.
Eight matches were played in Under -19 Boys.
In Under-19 Girls category –Five matches were played.
In these action packed matches, Mansa Club scored the highest score of 15 points under 17 Boys category. In Under 19 Boys category, the top scorers were Ludhiana Basketball Academy Team with 16 points followed by Majha Amritsar with 14 points. In the Under 19 Girls category Guru Nanak Club had the edge with 16 scores. In the under 17 Girls Category also Guru Nanak Club girls outsmarted others scoring 13 points.
Earlier, in the day the tournaments were inaugurated by J P Singh (PCS) Retd the President of District Basketball Association who was accompanied by Teja Singh Dhaliwal General Secretary of PBA and VP of BFI. Vijay Chopra the Finance Secretary of PBA and Brij Bhushan Goyal, Treasurer were also present at the occasion. /(December 12)
