Jalandhar, January 19, 2013: Today, the meeting of the all the 7 validly nominated candidates for the post of President NRI Sabha Punjab was held to explore the possibility of unanimity.
According to available information, after one hour long meeting, no unanimity was made between all the candidates. Hence, the process for the election of the President, NRI Sabha will be continue, said Iqbal Singh Sandhu SDM-I and Returning Officer, NRI Sabha Punjab Elections-2013 in a statement here today.
After this meeting, Candidates Jagjit Singh Toor, Sarbjit Singh and Gurjit Kaur have withdrawn their candidature for the post of President. Now four candidates are left in the fray.
The candidates in the fray are; Kamaljit Singh Hayer, Jasbir Singh Gill, Pritam Singh and Sukhwant Singh.
The last for withdrawal of nomination paper is January 20 till 5 pm
