It has been a magical journey for the last 40 weeks that has showcased the best dancers of India performing dance acts from around the world and topped the ratings week after week as the No 1 show on Indian television!

It was a dance extravaganza that captivated your imagination with every performance. For forty glorious weeks, India’s most loved dance reality show,‘Dance India Dance’ in its various avatars entertained you like never before. The journey started with ‘DIDSeason 3’ followed by the mega hit‘DID L’il Masters Season 2 and it has finally concluded  tonight  (Sunday,23rd September) with the ultimate dance challenge between the best dancers of DID L’il Masters Season 1 & Season 2 – Dance Ke Super kids. Television’s biggest dance carnival culminated with anexciting GRAND FINALE of ‘Knorr Soupy Noodlespresents Dance Ke Superkids’, but not without a promise to return soon.

Team ‘YAHOO’ comprising contestants from ‘DID L’il Masters Season 2’ – Faisal, Shalini, Saumya, Om, Jeet, Rohan and Tanay and led by skippers Raghav, Kruti and Prince were adjudged winners by masters Geeta Kapur,Marzi Pestonji, Farah Khan and special guest Master Terence Lewis. The team was the proud recipient of the spectacular ‘DanceKe Superkids’ trophy. Team ‘WAKAO’ comprising contestants from ‘DID L’il Masters Season 1’ – Jeetumoni,Vatsal, Ruturaj, Vaishnavi, Atul, Anurag and Khyati and captainedby skippers Dharmesh, Pradeep and Vrushali had left no stone unturned to put up a worthy fight. Healthy competition between the two teams helped each performer give his best and better their own performances with every passing week.

‘Dance Ke Superkids’ opened with a staggering 5.6 TVR in its opening week, proving that it is definitely the undisputed king of Non Fiction content in the GEC sphere. In weekend programming, ‘Dance Ke Superkids’ hadagain overtaken all other shows on competition in Week 37 (September 9 –September 15) of TAM 2012. And till date, these li’l powerhouses of talent have ruled the popularity charts, making the show the undisputed king ofall reality shows.

Commenting on the Grand Finale of the successful show, Ajay Bhalwankar, ZEEL, Content Head (Hindi GECs), said, “Our heartfelt thanks toall our viewers for supporting ‘Dance India Dance’ over thelast 40 weeks to make it the No 1 show on TV.  Heartiest congratulations to Team Yahoo for winning this series. Theentire DID family had reunited to commemorate the moment. Master Terence Lewis joined Masters Geeta Kapur, Marzi Pestonji, Farah Khan and Grandmaster Mithun Da whereas the winner of DID Season 3, Rajasmitha joined her Season 3 colleagues, Pradeep Gurung and Raghav ‘Crockroaz’ Juyal. Rani Mukherjee was the latest addition to the string of celebrity judges who was smitten by the charmof the ‘dance ke baaps.’ She graced the occasion at the semi-finals ofthis thrilling dance journey.

MasterGeeta Kapur said, “40 weeks … WOW!!! For the last 3 seasons of Dance India Dance, all I cansay is that it has been a ‘StupendoFantabulastically Fantastical’ journey. I will miss being a kid with the kids.” Master Marzi Pestonji said with a tinge of sadness, “I hate to say this but I will miss beingcalled ‘Udi Baba.’ An excited Farah Khan said, “I have just been here for 5 weeks but watching these kids dance, I can guarantee that even if the 40 weeks become 400 weeks, then too, people will watch every episode with equal gusto.” An emotional Mithun Da said,“Dance…India…Dance… what a journey! This has been, and will always be ‘MyKingdom.’ I have learnt a lot from these kids and I wish them the very best intheir chosen careers.”

The Grand Finale opened with a breathtaking group acts. Anchors, Jay Bhanushali and chik-chik Shreya Acharya ironingout their difference in a boxing ring. Jay and Shreya’s dance act will go down in DID history as one of the cutest acts. Master and protégé, Farah Khan and Geeta Kapur, set the stage on fire with their solo rendition of Munni Badnaam Hui and Sheila Ki Jawaani. This was the firsttime ever Farah and Geeta together performed on stage. No episode of DanceKe Superkids’ iscomplete without Om Chetri throwing a challenge to someone, the Grand Finale being no exception. Om challenged Jay Bhanushali and Master Marzi Pestonji todo a romantic number on Suraj Hua Madhyam.The Master and the anchorleft everybody rolling with laughter with their rib tickling sportiness. Om,Tanay and Rajsmitha’s Acrobasia act was a visual treat whilethe four ladies – Shalini, Vaishnavi, Kruti and Vrushali whipped up a stormwith their Indian dance act on the latest chartbuster O Womaniya! Congratsto Team Yahoo on winning the series!
