COMPENSATION OF RS 25.85 CRORE AWARDED
LUDHIANA, February 10, 2018: A total of 4263 cases were disposed off in the National Lok Adalat organised at the District Judicial Complex and sub-divisional level courts.
Divulging the details District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Mr.Gurbir Singh said that as many as 20 benches were constituted and the civil cases, Matrimonial cases, Bank recovery cases, Land Acquisition cases, water and power bills, revenue related and others were listed.
He said that during the National Lok Adalat 15546 cases were listed and 4263 solved at the spot and the compensation of Rs 25.85 crore was given.
He also said that the decision taken into these Lok Adalats is the final, which can not be challenged into any other courts.
He also informed that Lok Adalats save time and money of the people and help in maintaining peace in the society.
On the occasion, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary DLSA Dr. Gurpreet Kaur was also present.
