49th Annual Athletic Meet of Punjab Agricultural University inaugurated

Ludhiana, March 9, 2015: The 49th Annual Athletic Meet of Punjab Agricultural University was formally inaugurated today at the athletic track of the University. PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon inaugurated the meet. A large number of students, faculty and staff were present during inaugural ceremony. Students from all the constituent colleges of PAU and Institute of Gurdaspur are participating in the meet.

Addressing the students, Dr. Dhillon said sports and co-curricular activities play an important role in shaping the personality of a person. He said PAU is proud of its students who have excelled in different sports and co-curricular activities at national level. “It is matter of great pride that for the last 4-5 years, PAU has been winning overall championship at the All India Inter-Agricultural University Sports and Games meet”, he said. He advised the students to be determined, hardworking and passionate about their studies as well as sports. A large number of the students participated in march past.

Earlier, Director Students Welfare, Dr. Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal in her welcome address said that sports teach us discipline. She also highlighted the sports achievements of the students from years. The results of the various events are:-
