4th Annual Athletic meet concludes at GKU

Talwandi Sabo, March 7, 2015: 4th Annual Athletic meet of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo was organised in the Campus by Directorate of Sports. On the opening ceremony International Volleyball Player Dalel Singh Chauhan, Asian Medalist was the Chief Guest and on the concluding day Padama Shri Bahadur Singh (Asian Gold Medalis,  Arjun Awardee, & National Indian Coach) appeared as chief guest. As per Dr.Tarlok Singh Sandhu, Director Sports, GKU total 8 teams participated in this meet comprising constituent colleges and sister concerns of the University.

Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor, GKU stated in his address that students should participate maximum in sports along with academics so that overall personality of the students to be developed. 

Chief Guest Padama Shri Bahadur Singh appealed the students to play the games with the sportsmen spirit. He also laid emphasised on discipline to be a successful person in life. He also expressed his desire to connect Damdama Sahib with other places of the nation via all modes of transportations so that people around the world will be able to visit this religious place. 

On the basis of overall performance Physical Education College snatched 1st Position and also declared ‘Best College’ whereas Agriculture College declared runner up.

Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor congratulated Dr.Sandhu, Dr.Ravinder Sumal and whole staff Physical College and Directorate of Sports for successful conduction of this gala event.
