4th Batch of DGFT & FIEO’s Certification Program on Exports launched at Ludhiana

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Regional Authority Ludhiana in association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) launched the “4th Batch of Certification Program on Exports” at Ludhiana from 16th October 2024 onwards.

4th Batch of DGFT & FIEO’s Certification Program on Exports launched at Ludhiana

Ludhiana, October 16, 2024: Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Regional Authority Ludhiana in association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) launched the “4th Batch of Certification Program on Exports” at Ludhiana from 16th October 2024 onwards.

During the introductory lecture of the program Utpal Kumar Acharya, ITS, Jt. DGFT Regional Authority (Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Leh & Ladakh) said that, “The objective of this initiative is to spread awareness on various aspects of export business. India as a country has a great potential and is becoming an important player of Global Supply Chain system. The Government is also undertaking various initiatives & policy reforms for strengthening the export ecosystem in India, various export-oriented schemes, such as One District One Product (ODOP) Scheme, Product Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes, District as Export Hub and many more are being introduced”. He also added that, “We are pleased to share with you that we had successfully conducted three batches of this Certification program earlier at Ludhiana & Amritsar and I am happy to share that a number of candidates, who undertook this program, have ventured into the exports business after gaining the required knowledge and a couple of such candidates also succeeded in get few good orders from overseas buyers”.

Utpal Kumar Acharya during his interaction also discussed and explained various important export promotion schemes offered by DGFT with the participants along with the procedure and benefits of availing such schemes. He also added that “Awareness about such schemes surely help existing or upcoming exporters in planning their business plans better along with understanding of various export procedures”.

Vinay Sharma, Deputy Director, FIEO, while interacting with participants said that, “For the Government of India’s ambition of making a USD 5 Trillion Indian economy, the exports from India will play a major role. To align with the ambition of USD 5 Trillion economy, FIEO has also taken various key initiatives for the promotion of exports. FIEO organizes more than 50 International Trade Exhibitions all across the world every year, covering almost all kinds of products. At FIEO, we also organise various Business Delegation visits to various trading block or countries to promote India’s exports, Buyer-Seller meets etc. To address exporters issues, FIEO works closely with departments like Customs, GST, DGFT, Banks, through various Joint Working Groups or Committees at state and national level”.

Aashirwaad Tripathi, Young Professional - DGFT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, during his interaction said that, “When we look at the current global scenario, where most of countries in the world are passing through recessions or slow down, at the same time, the Indian economy is doing well, for such a condition, the export fraternity has worked really hard to achieve such a milestone. Such DGFT & FIEO joint efforts   to train the Startups and aspiring entrepreneurs, encouraging them to venture in the field of exports are surely going to play a vital role and I am sure that with such key initiatives, will surely benefit participants. The course is being organized under the DGFT & FIEO’s joint initiative and there is no any kind of fee being charged from the delegates undertaking this course, interested persons may contact DGFT office Ludhiana or  FIEO Punjab Office for the purpose of enrolment or other exports related information'. 

The classes under this certification program are being organized at the DGFT Office, Ludhiana. Experts from various agencies dealing in export promotion from India will be invited to deliver lectures and interact with participants during the course.
