4th Election of President of PAU Retirees' Welfare Association on May 9

Ludhiana, February 14, 2019: A meeting of the General Body of PAU Retirees' Welfare Association was held in Students' Home Auditorium under the Presidentship of Shri Jila Ram Bansal around 160 members attended the General Body Meeting.

Satish Sood, General Secretary of the Association presented the proposal of the Executive Council before the General House for conducting 4th Election of the President of the Association on 9th May, 2019 which was approved unanimously. The General Body appointed Shri H.B.S.Bhatia to conduct the election. It also appointed Sarvshri M.R.Passi and Mr.B.S.Lamba as Auditors to check the Accounts of the Association.

The last date of file nomination for election of the President was fixed as 8th May, 2019. The nomination can be withdrawn upto 11.00 noon on 9th May. The election will be held on the same day at 1.00 p.m.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Association came into existence on 23rd July, 2013 and Mr. Jila Ram Bansal was unanimously elected President. Because of his qualities of head and heart, he was elected President consecutively for the last three terms (2013, 3015 & 2017) till the ensuing election. So far in every term the General Body authorized the elected President to nominate other members of the Executive Council.

In the end the newly enrolled members and new executive members Avinash Sharma, Nitya Nand, Inderjit Singh, KC Saluja, Jasbir Singh, BB Sharma, DP Grover, Kamal Kishore Soni, Ashok Kumar, Ram Kewal Yadav, Balwant Rana, Madan Singh, Nardeep Singh were honoured with the garlands.

In today's meeting women retirees also participated such as Meena Kumari, Pawan Sharma, Sheela Matharoo, Kanwaljit Kaur, Gurinder & Hardish Kaur. In addition to the SK Goswami, Ajit Singh Cheema, Charanjit Singh Grewal, Gurmukh Singh, Labh Singh, Narinderpal Singh, Amarjit Singh, Anoop Singh, Jaswant Singh Jassi, Avtar Singh Mahal, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Iqbal Singh Lalli, RS Rangeela, RS Arora, PL Dua, Kailash Chander, KL Kalra, Gurdev Singh Grewal and Kamlesh Chander were also present.
