5-day 'Translation Training Program' from April 22 to 26

Chandigarh, April 16, 2019: Department of Hindi, Panjab University in collaboration with Central Translation Bureau, New Delhi and Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanrayan Samiti will organize a five day 'Translation Training Program' from 22 to 26th April at Dept. of Hindi. Dr.Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, Dept of Hindi and Sangeeta Vashishit, Secretary of the City Official Language Committee informed that more than 30 Translators and Hindi officers working in different Central Government Offices will participate besides students of Panjab University. Three officials from the Central Translation Bureau, New Delhi will be visiting Panjab University for the program as resource persons and will talk about various aspects of Translation. These include Vinod Sandlesh, Joint Director of the Bureau and Assistant Directors Rakesh Kumar Pathak and Vijay Kumar Nautiyal.
Dr. Gurmeet Singh further informed that this will be a first of its kind program to be held at the Department. The program will not only train the students in various aspects of Translation but also help build a connect and enhance goodwill between Panjab University and Central Departments. He also said that students from Dept of Hindi have a lot of job prospects in the field of translation and this program will contribute in enhancing their skills and building professional ties will translators from the Central Departments.
