5-Day workshop on Securities Market Operations in association with NISM
Jalandhar, November 29, 2021: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has always been making efforts for the holistic development of its students. In keeping with this tradition, P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration in association with National Institute of Securities Market (NISM) organised a five day workshop on Practical Aspects of Securities Market titled ‘Securities Market Operations’ for the students of B.Com (Hons.), B.Com (Pass and Hons.) and M.Com. The workshop was attended by more than 200 students. The resource person of the workshop was Dr Sanjay Kumar Agrawal. Dr Aggarwal highlighted the importance of Investment in a very effective manner. He acquainted students with various concepts namely Investment and its objectives, 3 Pillars of Investment, difference between Money and Finance, Inflation, Rule of 72, SLR Principle and also guided the students about various investment options available in the market. He discussed about Primary and Secondary Markets, Financial goals, Demat account opening procedure, three I´s of Investment intermediate, Mandatory and Voluntary documents required for applying in public issues etc. He also gave an in-depth knowledge regarding operations in brokers office, Stock quote, procedure to make payment to the stock broker etc. He also explained the concept and types of Mutual Funds, SIP, Net Asset Value, Risk of equity and Debt Investing, rights and duties of Investor, Ponzi Scheme. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Agrawal focussed on how to pursue a career in the Indian Securities Market.
Principal Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of P.G. Department of Commerce & Business administration for taking initiatives to make the students abreast of the latest developments in the field of Commerce and Industry.
