5 kg 40 grams charas recovered by Dharamsala police from a car
According to Shalini Agnihotri, Superintendent of Police in Kangra, a significant drug seizure took place on Tuesday. The police team from Dharamshala Police Station conducted a checking operation at Ikku Mod near Power House, close to Chamunda Devi temple, where they recovered 5 kg 40 grams of charas (a form of cannabis) from a car.

Dharamsala, June 6, 2023: According to Shalini Agnihotri, Superintendent of Police in Kangra, a significant drug seizure took place on Tuesday. The police team from Dharamshala Police Station conducted a checking operation at Ikku Mod near Power House, close to Chamunda Devi temple, where they recovered 5 kg 40 grams of charas (a form of cannabis) from a car.
During their routine patrolling and traffic checking, the police stopped a Hyundai i20 car with the registration number HP 82-5005, which was traveling from Chamunda towards Dharamsala. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the police discovered the illicit drugs weighing 5 kg 40 grams.
The car driver, identified as Sohan Singh (40), a resident of Village Dharmed PO Jhatigari in Mandi district, was immediately arrested. A case has been registered against him under Section 20, 25-61-85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Dharamsala Police Station in Kangra district.
