5 Students qualified from the West Zone

During the preliminary round - west zone for the Print Olympiad 2024 five students are qualified to participate in the final round. The 6th edition of 'Print Olympiad' - 2024 is organized by the Offset Printing Association. The first-round for west zone was held at a virtual platform on 22nd January 2024. 

5 Students qualified from the West Zone

Ludhiana, January 30, 2024: During the preliminary round - west zone for the Print Olympiad 2024 five students are qualified to participate in the final round. The 6th edition of 'Print Olympiad' - 2024 is organized by the Offset Printing Association. The first-round for west zone was held at a virtual platform on 22nd January 2024. 

Speaking about the concept Dr TKS Lakshmi Priya, the Chief Coordinator said, first of its kind, Print Olympiad is the largest printing talent search globally. The 6th edition is in progress, west zone competitions are being hosted by the PVG's COET&GKPWIM and Maharashtra Institute of Printing Technology, Pune. Two coordinators for the west zone are Prof. Madhura Mahajan and Prof. P. V. Shinde. Participating students are from PVG's COET&GKPWIM; MIPT; New Arts and Commerce College, Ahmednagar; GIPT, Beed; Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University for journalism and communication; RC Technical College Gandhinagar.

Dr. Varsha Chaware introduced the Guests of Honor (GOHs), inviting two esteemed personalities - Shridhar M Prabhu, Director of Dolly Printing & Packaging India Pvt. Ltd., Pune, and Dr. Datta Kute, Manager at SPPU-Pune and Chairman of MED25, Bureau of Indian Standards. Their addresses were anticipated to enrich the event with industry perspectives. Prof. Swati welcomed the esteemed panel of judges and facilitated their remarks. The judges included Sahil Rao (Director, Unbox Packaging, Maharashtra), Prashant Patil (GM Technical Sales, Newspaper and Narrow-Web Chemo Graphics International), Prof. Arun Gangarde (Director I/C, Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Sciences, New Arts Commerce & Science College, Ahmednagar), and Jitendra Songire (Director, K. S. Wani Institute of Printing, Jalgaon). 

Prof. Madhura Mahajan took the stage to introduce and acknowledge Directors Prof. Kaduskar, Sunil Redekar, Dr. Kamble, and Principal Dr. Manoj, who gave their best wishes to the participants. Dr. Prof. Madhura Mahajan introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. M. P. Raghav Rao, Managing Director of Fujifilm Sericol India Pvt. Ltd. invited him to address the participants and officially declare the competition open. Dr. Raghav Rao, sir, stated, "I believe that this talent hunt is just as important as the inauguration of Shri Ram idol." 

The participants engaged in a challenging yet stimulating environment, showcasing their knowledge and skills in printing technology. There were two different sets in the first round, one for Diploma, D. Voc & B. Voc and the other for B. Tech & B.E. Printing. The test lasted for 30 minutes, with 50 questions. During the exam, the judges continuously monitored the students. At 12:40 pm, the paper was submitted.

The culmination of the competition occurred with the declaration of results by Prof. Kamal Chopra, the Project Chairman. Five students were declared eligible to compete in the second round - Apeksha Deshmukh, PVG COET, Pune; Samadhan Baviskar, MIPT, Pune; Mohit Katial, MIPT, Pune; Rutuja Bhale, MIPT, Pune; Vaibhav Lingshetti, MIPT, Pune. This moment marked the culmination of the participants' efforts and set the stage for further rounds and achievements. 

The program concluded with concluding remarks and a Vote of Thanks delivered by Anubhava Shiksharthi, the Advisor of Print Olympiad, at 12:50 p.m. His words expressed gratitude to all involved, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that made the event a success.
