500 Police personnel to keep tab over law and order situation in Nawanshahr for 24-hours
High-tech police nakas at entry points of district
Nawanshahr, December 16, 2021: In order to keep round the clock vigil by strengthening the patrolling and checking in the district, the Nawanshahr Police have deputed as many as 500 Police employees comprising SPs, DSPs, SHOs, PCR staff and others in the field to ensure surveillance on law and order situation for 24-hours.
Disclosing further details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kanwardeep Kaur said that during day hours, three DSPs along with 12 inspectors, 15 PCR teams, eight Rapid Rural Police System teams and 205 police employees would ensure strict watch on the anti-social elements in the district and similarly, night domination would be led by two SPs/DSPs, three inspectors/sub-inspectors and 150 other employees in the district.
SSP said that the security has been beefed up in the district to avoid any untoward incident and to check misuse of money and liquor ahead of ensuring assembly polls.
She said that these teams have been deployed at all vulnerable points, crowded places and entry points of the district which have been completely sealed ahead of the ensuing assembly polls. SSP said that some of the teams would patrol their respective areas intensively to keep a close tab on the situation. She added that security has also been beefed up further with installation of three high-tech nakas.
SSP Kaur said that Nawanshahr police would uphold the glorious tradition of the Punjab Police to ensure free and fair polls in the state.
She said that the entire area under the Nawanshahr police has been divided into various sectors and added that every sector would be supervised by officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police.
