55 corporates turned up at DAVIET to give employment to youth of Punjab under “ghar ghar rozgar mission”

Jalandhar, February 21, 2018: Under the guidance of District Administration, Jalandhar, District Bureau of employment generation and training, Jalandhar in collaboration with DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar hosted a mega job fair (Rojgar Mela) on Wednesday to fulfil the promise of campus to coorporate 2018 (Ghar Ghar Naukri) scheme of Punjab Govt. Candidates having a degree or diploma from various disciplines such as student of polytechnic ,graduates MBA ,MCA from all over Punjab appeared in the Mega job fair.
This job fest was inaugurated by the deputy commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma along with his other dignitaries who directly monitored this employment campaign with the joint efforts of Deputy Director, District Bureau of Employment Generation & Training, Jalandhar. A study showed that from among 1800+ candidates appearing for 51+ corporate, 535+ deserving students are shortlisted. This initiative to provide job opportunities to the unemployed candidates of the state was successfully organised by the Department of Training and placement of DAVIET. Hardworking and responsible head of Training and Placement cell, Mr .Sushil Prashar put his five finger effort into the making of this event effectual .Following the technology of digitization, the registration of the willing candidates was done on www .davietjal.org/ggn davit app by the organization. The online registration idea proved an eco friendly way preventing the wastage of paper.
Dr Manoj Kumar, Principal of DAV Insititute of Engineering and Technology appreciated the efforts of department of Training and Placement and felt very contented that the eligible and deserving candidates are getting employed . He also shared that our major achievement today is that the students who belongs to remote areas are getting job opportunities at DAVIET. This scheme assures students that there are companies who are looking for candidates with skills. The Deputy commissioner appreciated the hard work of Smt. Sanjeeda Beri, Deputy Director, District bureau of Employment generation and training in flourishing of this Mega Job Mela . Mr. Sushil Prashar , Head TPO along with his team members assured candidates that they will keep on organising such job fairs consecutively in coming years .
Sh. Mahesh Khanna, General Manager, DIC Sh. Gurmail Singh, Employment Officer, Capt. I. S. Dhami, Deputy Director, Youth Welfare Services and their team members were also present over in the event.
