553rd “Prakash Utsav” of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence by educational institutions

Ludhiana, November 20, 2022: The 553rd “Prakash Utsav” of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence by the educational institutions (Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, GGNIVS, GGNIMT, GGN Khalsa College of Pharmacy and GGN Public School) running under the aegis of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council at the Gurdwara Sahib of the GGN Khalsa college, Civil Lines, Ludhiana on Saturday. After the bhog of Sehaj Path and recitation of “Sukhmani Sahib” Prof. Jaspreet Kaur, Professor Incharge, Gurmat Sabha welcomed the Sangat. 

This was followed by the melodious “Kirtan” by Bhai Ranjit Singh and students and staff members of the college. On this occasion Dr. Charan Kamal Singh, Director, Ishmeet Music Academy, Ludhiana shared his views with the congregation and emphasized on the young generation to take guidance from the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and make his divine message a part of practical life because his teachings can be an ideal guide for improving the moral standard of the society. 

While congratulating the Sangat on the 553rd “Prakash Utsav” of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Arvinder Singh, Honorary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council said that the Council and the educational institutions running under it have carried out the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji fairly well and are committed to imparting these to the students. He further said that their aim is to inspire the students to adopt ethical values by taking guidance from “Gurmat Siddhant.”

At the end, Principal of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College,  Dr. Arvinder Singh formally thanked the gathering and said that the aim of their institution is to adopt and propagate the ideology and philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and several events are continuously organized by the institution to achieve this goal.  He inspired the students to make the divine message received from the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji an integral part of their lives. The winners of Dastar Bandi Competition (Class Wise) which was organized earlier were felicitated in the end. Harpreet Singh of BCA I, Agampreet Singh B.Com III and Bhawarpreet Singh of BA III won first position and second prize was bagged by Jaskaran Singh of BSc II, Sharandeep Singh of BSc III, Baldeep Singh of B.Com I, Kamaljeet Singh of B.Com II and Rubalpreet Singh of MA II. Prabhjot Singh of BCA II, Sukhwinder Singh of BA I and Harjot Singh of B.Com II won the third positions. Prizes and certificates were distributed to all the winning students. 

After the Ardaas, the Guru's langar was served. In this event, former president of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council Prof. Prithipal Singh Kapur, Members of the Council- Jasbir Singh, Tajinder Singh, Dr. Gajinder Singh, Hardeep Singh, Arvinderpal Singh, Director, GGNIMT & GGNIVS, Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra,  Principal, GGNIMT,  Dr. Parvinder Singh, Principal GGN College of Pharmacy, Dr. Shikha and all the faculty members were present. Dr. Mandeep Kaur handled the stage wonderfully, throughout the day. 

On this occasion, an exhibition of the books related to Sikhism was also organised by Gurmat Pustak Bhandar.
